The New York Times writes about high unemployment among young Spaniards.

Unemployment among people ages 16 to 24 is 42.9 percent, the highest in Europe, and more than double the overall rate.

Unemployment among the general population stands at 19.3 percent.

This is roughly where it stood about 10 years ago, when I first started tracking this sort of thing there.

If your economy hits 20 percent unemployment twice in a decade or so, it might be time to look at the sorts of rules that cause employers not to want to hire people.
