The web has turned me into one of the world's foremost experts on shitty pizza, as evidenced by the number of hits lately on my post last year regarding Ugi's.
This blogger looks at the Ugi's pizza as a yardstick for inflation. Nicely done. This blogger seems to like Ugi's. . . . or at least acknowledges that it has a place in this world.
My Ugi's post also got a bit of link love in a photography forum.
Nearly a year has passed since I left Buenos Aires behind.
The other night I joined my friends downstairs for dinner with some friends of theirs I hadn't met before. At some point, I was compelled to share the economical version of my recent life: newspaper, Argentina, writing, fruit.
K was fascinated. "Wow! That's so cool!"
M wanted to know what Uruguay was like.
The level of attention paid to my ridiculous life was starting to make me uncomfortable. I turned to my friend standing behind me at the stove and said: "Wow, I kind of forgot I did all this stuff."
She laughed and we shared a quick, wry smile. "I know," she said. "You had a great life!"
